Are your products gluten-free?

We don't use nuts as ingredients, but peanuts and tree nuts may be found in our supply chain, so we can't guarantee our products are nut-free.
Which allergens do you handle?
The following allergens are handled from time to time by Nature Kitchen: sesame seed, celery, mustard, soya and sulphites (possible presence in ginger and cinnamon, over 10mg/kg). The following may be found in the supply chain: peanuts, tree nuts, cereals, milk and milk products, sesame seeds, celery, mustard and sulphites.
Do your products contain MSG?
No, our blends are all natural: just herbs and spices, with nothing artificial added.
Do your products contain palm oil?
No, our blends contain no palm oil. They're just herbs and spices.
Is your cinnamon real cinnamon or cassia?
We use cassia cinnamon.
What is your cayenne pepper?
Cayenne is a type of capsicum. Capsicum is the family name for all chillies and peppers, from the sweet red pepper in your salad right up to the fiery ones. Cayenne is a long, thin red chilli we dry and grind into a powder. It's a hot one, roughly 30,000 to 50,000 on the Scoville heat scale, around seven to ten times hotter than a jalapeño, so a small pinch goes a long way. Ours is 100% cayenne with nothing added.
How do you make your rubs and seasonings?
We're very traditional: we freshly grind and mix everything in small batches.
Storage & Use
How should I store my spices?
Keep your pots somewhere cool, dry and dark, so not above the cooker or the kettle. Pop the lid back on straight away, and use a dry spoon rather than shaking over a steaming pan, or it can go lumpy.
How long do spices last?
Check the best-before date on your pot. Kept cool, dry and sealed, your spices will keep their flavour for a good long while.
Can I tip the seasoning into glass jars?
Our pots are made to keep the flavour in. If you do move your seasoning into a jar, keep it somewhere dark, away from the light.
How do I remove the labels?
The labels are easy peel, so if you decide you want to use the label on your own jars, you can do.
Do you have any cookbooks or recipes?
Yes! Have a look at our recipe pages, and you'll find recipes on every product page. We also send ten tips with every order.
Gifts
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, gift cards are available in £20, £50 and £100. They're sent by email, so they can choose their own favourite flavours.
